INTRODUCTION OF OUR LADY OF SORROWS KINUNGI PARISH.

 

Our Lady of Sorrows Kinungi Parish which is a jubilee parish (Parish number 50 in the diocese) was established on 10, September 2017, by Rt. Rev Maurice Muhatia Makumba the Bishop of Nakuru Diocese and under the leadership of Fr. Augustine Mugambi Kiruja who was appointed as the Parish Priest and Fr. Simon Albertus Toppo who was appointed as the assistant parish priest.

Our Lady of Sorrow Kinungi is in Naivasha Deanery and in Nakuru Diocese, The territorial boundaries for the parish of Our Lady of Sorrows was constructed by some of outstations from SS. Simon and Jude Parish Longonot: Our Lady of Sorrows Kinungi, St. Claire Ihindu, St. Francis of Assisi Munyu, St. Martin De Porres Mwiciringiri and St. Peters & Paul Mwisho wa Lami; together with the following outstations previously under St. Francis Xavier Parish Naivasha: St. Michael Nyamathi, St. Mary Nyakairu and St. Peters Maraigushu. Later Fr. Simon Albertus Toppo was transferred and Fr. Titus Wambua was appointed as the assistant parish priest.

At the moment in the parish community we are three priests, Fr. Nicholas Kibaara the Superior of the community and Fr. Isaac Wanyoike who is a community member. The three priests work together and do pastoral ministry in the parish……………………..
